DAY 1 – Departure/Travel Day
Guadalupe Island lies a considerable distance from San Diego. For this
reason our entire first day is dedicated to traveling. Islander has a
spacious upper-deck for relaxing in the sun as well as a fully stocked
video and book library. While en route there is also the possibility of fishing for tuna,
yellowtail or dorado if the opportunity presents itself.
- 7 am: Islander boarding begins at Fisherman's Landing in San Diego. Guests sign in and stow
luggage in below deck staterooms. Continental breakfast is available in galley.
- 9 am: Islander departs Fisherman's Landing with a brief stop at
the San Diego Bay bait receivers to load sardines for those
guests who wish to fish. At this time a comprehensive safety
seminar and brief overview of the trip is given in the
galley by the captain.
- 12 pm: Lunch is served in the galley. Following lunch we will have
an in- depth seminar on diving procedures, safety in the water
and what to expect during our stay at Guadalupe Island. The
remainder of the day is spent getting acquainted with other guests
and crew, and learning the fascinating facts and details about
(scientific name).
- 3-4 pm: Hors d'oevres are served.
- 6 pm: Dinner is served in the galley. Movies and books are available
in the salon for your entertainment for the rest of the night.
