Itinerary

DAY 1 – Departure/Travel Day

Guadalupe Island lies a considerable distance from San Diego. For this reason our entire first day is dedicated to traveling. Islander has a spacious upper-deck for relaxing in the sun as well as a fully stocked video and book library. While en route there is also the possibility of fishing for tuna, yellowtail or dorado if the opportunity presents itself.

  • 7 am: Islander boarding begins at Fisherman's Landing in San Diego. Guests sign in and stow luggage in below deck staterooms. Continental breakfast is available in galley.
  • 9 am: Islander departs Fisherman's Landing with a brief stop at the San Diego Bay bait receivers to load sardines for those guests who wish to fish. At this time a comprehensive safety seminar and brief overview of the trip is given in the galley by the captain.
  • 12 pm: Lunch is served in the galley. Following lunch we will have an in- depth seminar on diving procedures, safety in the water and what to expect during our stay at Guadalupe Island. The remainder of the day is spent getting acquainted with other guests and crew, and learning the fascinating facts and details about (scientific name).
  • 3-4 pm: Hors d'oevres are served.
  • 6 pm: Dinner is served in the galley. Movies and books are available in the salon for your entertainment for the rest of the night.
 
DAY 2 - Full Day of Diving
  • 7 am: Hot and cold breakfast is served in the galley.
  • 8 am: Islander arrives at Guadalupe Island. At this time conditions are assessed and the best location is chosen for our dive operations to begin. Cages are deployed and dive rotations begin. Provided the sharks are present, the remainder of the day is spent viewing them from both above and below the water. In the event the sharks are not present at our particular location, it may be necessary to move to an alternate dive site.
  • 12 pm: Lunch is served in the galley. Dive rotations continue into the evening.
  • 3-4 pm: Hors d'oeuvres are served. 6 pm: Dinner is served in the galley.
DAY 3 - Full Day of Diving
  • 6 am: Dive operations resume.
  • 7 am: Breakfast is served in the galley.
  • 3-4 pm: Hors d'oeuvres are served.
  • 6 pm: Dinner is served in the galley.
DAY 4 – Full Day of Diving/Depart for San Diego
  • 6 am: Dive operations resume and continue until dark
  • 7 am: Breakfast is served in the galley.
  • 3-4 pm: Hors d’oeuvres are served.
  • 6 pm: Dinner is served in the galley.
  • Sundown: Islander departs Guadalupe Island bound for San Diego
DAY 5 - Travel Day/Arrival

The last day of travel provides an ideal time to reflect on your experience at Guadalupe, share/trade photos and relax before our arrival in San Diego.
  • 8 am: Breakfast is served in the galley.
  • 12 pm: Lunch is served in the galley.
  • 4 pm: Early dinner is served in the galley prior to arrival.
  • 5-7 pm: Arrival in San Diego.
